- On 9/29/15 @ 6:29pm – A Raritan resident was arrested and charged with obstruction, hindering apprehension and contempt of court after patrol was called to Morecraft Park for a report of an active fight. Upon arrival it was discovered that the fight had stopped and several individuals, including the suspect, were still on scene. The suspect was asked for his name and refused to give it after several requests. He was then arrested for obstruction. After being arrested his identification was found in his wallet. An active warrant was then found for his arrest as well. The suspect was arrested, processed and later turned over to the Bridgewater Police Department on his warrant.
- On 9/28/15 @ 10:16am – A Rahway resident was arrested and charged with two counts of contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for having a suspended registration. The driver was then found to have two active warrants out for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and later released.
- On 9/26/15 @ 9:22pm – Two Garfield residents were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and patrol smelled the odor of marijuana upon approaching. After a search of the vehicle a clear plastic bag of marijuana and several prescription pills were found. Neither suspect would claim ownership of the narcotics so both were charged. The female suspect was processed and later released and the male suspect was processed and later transported to Middlesex County Jail.
- On 9/26/15 @ 2:32pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Sanford Avenue. The passenger in the vehicle was known to the officer and known to have an active warrant out for her arrest. The vehicle was stopped and the suspect was arrested. She was processed and later turned over to Green Brook Police Department on her warrant.
- On 9/21/15 @ 8:05pm – A Somerset resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after patrol received a report of individuals smoking marijuana in a vehicle on Grove Street. The vehicle was located and searched. A clear plastic bag of marijuana was found in plain view in the front of the vehicle. The driver was arrested, processed and later released.
- On 9/19/15 @ 3:19pm – A Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. The vehicle was stopped for the front seat passenger not wearing a seatbelt. The passenger was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and turned over to Piscataway Police Department on his warrant.
- On 9/17/15 @ 1:40am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with shoplifting, hindering apprehension and contempt of court after patrol was called to Quick Check on North Avenue for a shoplifter. Upon arrival the suspect was located and four kit kat bars were found in her jacket pocket. She then lied about her name to hide the fact that she had an active warrant out for her arrest out of North Plainfield. She was arrested, processed and later turned over to North Plainfield Police Department.
- On 9/14/15 @ 10:10am – A Piscataway resident and an East Orange resident were both arrested on two counts of contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and the driver of the vehicle had a suspended license. Two warrants for the driver were then found as well as two warrants for the passenger. Both were arrested and taken to headquarters where they were processed.
- On 9/10/15 @ 9:55am – Six different vehicle were reported to have been burglarized sometime during the overnight hours. Two of the vehicles were on Kline Place, two were on Jadach Place, one was on Kennedy Court and one was on 2nd Street. All of the vehicles were left unlocked. There were no known witnesses.
- On 9/10/15 @ 1:41am – A North Plainfield resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. The suspect was found by patrol walking in the middle of Route 28 shouting for help. Upon arrival the suspect continually screamed to the officers to call 911. He then began to knock on several doors in the area. When Dunellen Rescue Squad arrived to bring the patient to the hospital for treatment he became aggressive and disorderly. When patrol attempted to place him in handcuffs he ran. When he was apprehended he punched an officer in the head and continued to resist. He was finally placed in custody and transported to the hospital where it was discovered he was high on PCP. He was later transported to Middlesex County Jail.
- On 9/8/15 @ 7:52am – A New Brunswick resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on Bound Brook Road. The vehicle was stopped for the registration being suspended. The driver was found to also have a suspended license and an active warrant out for her arrest. She was arrested, processed and later released.
- On 9/7/15 @ 10:49pm – A Dunellen resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Grove Street. The vehicle was stopped for having a broken brake light. The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he was found to be over double the legal limit. He was processed and later released to a sober party.
- On 9/7/15 @ 12:30am – A New Brunswick resident was arrested and charged with DWI and refusing to submit to breath testing following a motor vehicle stop on North Avenue. The vehicle was reported to have been in a hit and run accident in Piscataway. Patrol located the vehicle driving with heavy front end damage on North Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. He was brought to headquarters where he refused to give breath samples. He was charged and later released to a sober party.
- On 9/6/15 @ 11:17pm – A Somerset resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because a random plate inquiry revealed an active warrant for the owner’s arrest. The suspect was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later posted bail.
- On 9/5/15 @ 1:44am – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on South Washington Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and the driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and brought to headquarters to be processed where he was found to be more than twice the legal limit. He was charged and later released to a sober party.
- On 9/4/15 @ 12:57pm – A Piscataway resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after patrol was called to an area near the railroad tracks for an intoxicated male. When patrol arrived they found the suspect heavily intoxicated. The suspect then became aggressive towards officers and when placed under arrest for disorderly conduct he then resisted. He was brought to headquarters where he was evaluated by the rescue squad and later released.
- On 9/1/15 @ 7:24pm – A Raritan resident was arrested and charged with contempt of court after patrol responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 100 block of 2nd Street. The vehicle was located and the driver was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest. The suspect was brought to headquarters where he was processed and later released.
